Visit of the town
Back to the car, go up along the Provincial Road until you reach Soldano, announced by the church of San Mauro rebuilt in Baroque style with the addition of the massive porch with seats.
Crossing the inhabited area, park at the widening with plastic roofs and then walk up the porphyry steps of Via Cima, from which you’ll then take the left on Via Soprana.
Once at the small square continue to the left, passing next to the open space with a minibasket field faced by the wall on which traces of a fresco are disappearing; not only several houses, but also several of the gardens that you’ll flank here, show clear signs of abandonment.
Continuing, you’ll arrive shortly after to the little square characterized by the low stone bridge of the other access way; there stands the church of San Giovanni Battista, with a simple marble portal and a single nave.
On the left is the eighteenth-century oratory of San Giovanni Evangelista, with a lintel of 1594 carved with rosettes and the inscription "JESUS MARIA" between the letters B B and floral motifs; on the jambs two military guardian wizards watch over from their medallions.
From there take the bridge that leads out of the square along Via San Marco and, once you have passed the vault, turn around to look at the beautiful aedicule dedicated to the Madonna; then leave the village through the gate that preserves the machicolation at the top and the holes for the iron latches at the sides, and return to the car.
Continuing to descend towards the sea up to the Aurelia, head towards Camporosso.
